Why Choose Us?

There are 2 of us so we’ve always got a back up person.

We can be in 2 places at once. If you’re walking up the aisle we can get both of your first reactions at the same time.

We’re qualified. I’ve got an Advanced Diploma of Photography and a Bachelor of Visual Arts. Lyndon has a Bachelor in Film, Tv and Media. We know our stuff.

We’re experienced. We’ve been in business together for 5 years. Before weddings, Lyndon spent almost a decade filming and editing for commercial video and TV, and Anthea was a photographer at the National Library.

We’re really friendly, polite and easygoing. We promise! Read Google reviews from our past couples here.

You get access to all your edited photos 2 weeks after the wedding.

We make photos relaxed + enjoyable. No synchronised jumping, chest bumps or awkward poses. Just candid + natural.

We’re reliable. We’ll be there early and we often stay longer than we’re asked.

Our editing style is timeless, your photos/video will still look good in 20 years. We edit to the highest standard with accurate colours and maximum detail. No over processing or dated Instagram filter looks.

Will we meet you before our wedding?

Definitely! We feel that the more we know about you, your family and friends, the better we are at telling the story of your wedding day. We also want to make sure that you’re going to love having us there to celebrate with you! If you’re in Canberra we can meet for coffee, or if you’re elsewhere in Australia or internationally then we’d love to meet you over Skype.

What are your prints and albums like?

Our Fine Art Albums and Prints are optional extras that you can order through our online gallery. We custom design our albums and send them to the USA, where they are printed with archival inks and matte paper. They feature lay flat binding, meaning that there are no gutters in the binding and each spread fully opens to lay flat.

Our handcrafted fine art prints are produced using a technique called ‘pigment on cotton rag’. We offer 3 unique smooth matte and textured matte hahnemuhle papers, and they are matted and ready for framing.

Our packaging is made from natural resources and we strive to use environmentally friendly products wherever possible.

Can we have the raw files?

We don’t let raw files out of the studio for multiple reasons, the main one being our quality control. Raw files are un-finished products, If they’re processed from digital files into final images by someone other than us, then the final image/video quality may be severely compromised. The alternatively processed final images could then be attributed to to us, and could be damaging to our work and brand.

The photos we supply are the highest quality final images from the day, and the full resolution files can be printed between A3-A2 lossless (but can go much larger and still retain exceptional quality).

We film hundreds of short 5-10 second clips during a wedding day to use in editing a highlights video. These hundreds of individual files are the raw footage, and are unusable except for the purpose of editing into a video. We don’t film any part of the day continuously, because footage from a single camera on a tripod is boring. Instead, we roam around to get cinematic and engaging footage from different angles.

If you’d like parts of the day filmed in their entirety as a record and you don’t need the footage professionally edited, we’d recommend setting up a gopro or similar camera on a small tripod.

How long have you been doing this for?

Anthea has been working as a documentary photographer since 2010 for international not-for profit organisations, as well as photographing weddings. Her passion for documentary photography has influenced the way we approach weddings, and allows us to tell an authentic and natural story.

Lyndon has been a videographer since 2007 and has covered a huge variety of events in that time, from weddings to international sporting competitions and the launch of Canberra’s very own Hooray Magazine (highly recommended blog reading for weddings!).

How do you work, and what is it like to have you photograph and film our wedding?

Our approach to photographing and filming is a combination of traditional, documentary and illustrative styles. We do give direction during the traditional family portraits and when photographing and filming with the bridal party. During bridal party and couple photos we also take an illustrative approach with an emphasis on composition, lighting and background. We photograph and film the rest of the day in a documentary style. We prefer an organic, informal approach rather than staging posed shots. We capture events as they unfold so we can tell the story of your wedding.

How much time do we need for photography and video?

We recommend around an hour for pre-ceremony preparation! We suggest half an hour for formal family portraits following the ceremony, and around 1-2 hours for post-ceremony location photographs. The ‘golden hour’ before sunset is the best time to photograph and film. What you’d like covered at the reception is up to you, and don’t forget to include driving times between locations. Read more about our advice on planning your run sheet and timeline here.

Do we need to feed you?

If we are present during the reception we request that you ask the venue to supply two basic meals. By this time we’ve probably spent 6 hours with you, and we need to keep our energy levels up so that we can document your day to the best of our ability.

But our wedding isn’t in Canberra!

Not to worry! We travel interstate as well as internationally for weddings, contact us for more information. We’ve photographed and filmed weddings in country New South Wales, the Southern Highlands, Sydney, Queensland, and as far away as Thailand.

How can we book?

Get in touch and we can send you our price guide and arrange to meet over Skype or for coffee if you’re in Canberra.
