We’re excited to share the highlights from Alex and Michael Cheekam’s spring wedding at Adams Peak Country Estate and The Barn in Broke, Hunter Valley NSW.
It was more important to Alex and Michael to have photos of the two of them, and focus less on portraits with their bridal party. That meant the bridesmaids and groomsmen could head back to the reception and join the guests for canapés, while we visited the winery just around the corner from the venue. This suits couples who don’t want a group standing around watching you have your photo taken.
At Adams Peak you can book the entire property for 2 nights and have your bridal party and family stay with you. They offer a few different choices of ceremony locations and reception venues. With the ceremony, reception and accommodation all in one place, it’s easier for you and your guests to relax and enjoy the wedding day without worrying about transport, traffic or watching the clock.
Michael and Alex chose to have their wedding ceremony on The Lawn with some of the most amazing views in the Upper Hunter. The setting for the ceremony was the beautiful landscapes of the Yellow Rock Escarpment, the Brokenback Ranges and surrounding vineyards.
They held their wedding reception dinner in The Hay Shed. A modern version of an old favourite, The Hay Shed is a huge undercover area with spectacular views across to Yellow Rock Escarpment and the Brokenback Ranges. It can take up to 160 for a seated reception and 180 for a cocktail reception.
The guests then moved across to The Barn for the dessert station, photo booth and dancing. The boys performed a traditional Samoan dance, and Alex performed the Siva. The Barn is the perfect place for a rustic reception. Sit down receptions in The Barn up to 120 guests, cocktail receptions up to 160. The covered deck can be used as a dance floor, chill out area or whiskey bar for later in the night.
