Wedstival camping, Kata Tipis and Food Van wedding

Bawley Bush Retreat is one of the best wedding ceremony and reception venues on the South Coast of New South Wales. It’s the perfect venue to have the ultimate ‘wedstival’ wedding, with kata tipis and food vans for your reception. Bawley Bush Retreat and Cottages is a coastal, secluded, lakeside property located on the beautiful mid NSW South Coast. It has all the self-catered function and accommodation facilities you could possibly need to celebrate a wedding. Bawley Bush Retreat caters for extended wedding celebrations where brides, grooms and their guests stay overnight and have exclusive access to the entire property and function room. We love the idea of a wedding field trip style camp out, but we might be biased because we’re doing this for our own wedding! Ceremonies at Bawley Bush Retreat can be held anywhere on the property in front of an arbor, on the garden lawns against the backdrop of the lake, or down by the beach.

Wedding Receptions at Bawley Bush Retreat

The maximum seated capacity for receptions held in the Cockatoo Room is 100, and they cater for larger cocktail-style weddings. The lakeside reception room can comfortably seat 80 people inside, and an extra 30 or so guests can be accommodated with verandas. You could also cater for your wedding with food vans as a picnic style, wedstival outdoor reception dinner under the stars. Guests can be seated outside on the lawns or in a hired marquee or kata teepee. We recommend South Coast Party Hire for their beautiful marquees with clear walls, integrated wooden flooring and lighting packages. For wedding tipis we suggest getting in touch with Kata Lane. The beauty of holding your wedding ceremony and reception at a venue like Bawley Bush Retreat and Cottages, is being able to choose your own caterers and supply your own drinks. Being able to hold your ceremony and reception in the one place is also a big advantage.

Bawley Bush Retreat is one of the alternative style wedding venues on WedShed. They sum up their mission perfectly on their website: “We use the word ‘venue’ loosely – our spaces range from woolsheds and warehouses to wineries and airplane hangars. What’s consistent is that all our venue-partners allow couples to create personal celebrations that reflect what they’re all about. Less bridezilla, more bridechilla.” We think WedShed is a pretty awesome place to research your ultimate unique wedding venue.
