Wedding Photography

The lesson we learnt from Kat and Nic’s wedding is to celebrate your marriage how you want to.

Kat and Nic decided to spend their whole wedding day together, instead of following the traditional separate preparation. They spent the morning getting ready with their bridal party at Hotel Hotel, and had their own intimate first look with their best mates watching.

She wore flats and he wore his best pair of jeans.

They had their heart set on scenic photographs in a wide open landscape. So we stopped by Lake George on the way from Canberra to Goulburn before the ceremony. On the day of their wedding Lake George was the fullest we’d ever seen it after all the rain we’ve had this year! Kat and Nic came prepared with a spare pair of shoes, and they trudged through the boggy wetlands with us. It was totally worth it!

They had the most impressive dessert buffet table we’ve ever seen. It featured a coffee and walnut cake, pear and hazelnut cake, chocolate torte, cheescake, carrot cake, chocolate peppermint slice and a caramel macadamia slice amongst other goodies!

Nic’s mum Debra was their in house stylist who hired gold cutlery, and collected brass vases and candle holders throughout the year.

The ceremony venue, Riversdale in Goulburn, is an estate with a rich history set amongst beautiful gardens. Edward Twynam, the NSW Surveyor-General bought it in 1875 and it remained the family home until 1967. Their reception venue, the Goulburn Club, also has it’s own interesting history.
