Feature Friday | My Sweet Alice

Welcome to our Feature Friday – when we feature a creative and interesting business from Canberra and the surrounding region. We get to know them and share a little bit about what they do. This Friday we meet Erin and Steve from My Sweet Alice.

1. Tell us about My Sweet Alice

My Sweet Alice is a beautiful bespoke vintage-style caravan cafe. We travel around Canberra (and surrounds) helping people have wonderful, beautiful and unique events, including; weddings, bridal showers and birthday parties. If we don’t have a private event on we can be found on Lake Burley Griffin, just across from Blundell’s Cottage serving coffee and homemade treats.

2. What’s a day in the life of My Sweet Alice like

After spending the previous day baking, It’s an early start the next morning. I’m usually up at around 5:30am to get the car packed and Alice hooked on and ready to go. I leave the house at about 6:30am. Once on site my first priority is to get the espresso machine on as I’m in desperate need of a latte after my pre-dawn start! I spend the day making coffee and chatting to lots of different people, which I love! Pack up, (which is not so fun) put Miss Alice back onto the car and tow her back home.

3. What are some of the challenges

Not having weekends any more is quite challenging. I try to take a Saturday or Sunday every few months so I can spend the day with my husband.

4. What inspires you

I’m inspired by women who are brave enough to do what really makes them happy, rather than trying to find happiness and fulfilment by doing what “should”, according to today’s society, make them happy. They define their own happiness.

5. Who is your ideal customer

My ideal customer is someone with a story to tell. I love hearing about other peoples lives and passions.
