Port Douglas is a beautiful destination for a wedding with so many picturesque wedding venues to choose from. Who doesn’t love attending a wedding in a tropical paradise, and having the perfect excuse to take a holiday with family and friends. Petra and Nick spent the week sightseeing and relaxing by the pool with their wedding guests. With the Great Barrier Reef on it’s doorstep, Port Douglas is a pretty popular tourist destination as well as the perfect backdrop for a wedding day. We’re excited to share with you a small part of this beautiful destination wedding that we photographed in Port Douglas. Petria and Nick decided 4 months out from their wedding to change the location to somewhere that was more true to who they are as a couple. They chose Port Douglas as the destination, and it was a small, relaxed & intimate wedding with less than 40 guests.
The ceremony was held in the quaint little seaside church St Mary’s by the Sea, and the reception at Niramaya Resort. Friends and family helped with the D-I-Y styled reception – Petria’s aunty Ros put together the flowers, there were homemade jam wedding favours from the Cooma Country Women’s Association, as well a handmade cake topper. We are so grateful that we were able to photograph Petria and Nick’s wedding, and we hope you enjoy looking through these photographs from the day!
